Meet the inner team
A place where psychology meets storytelling, creativity, and fun.
Through character-based tools (like Confident Charlie and Negative Nelly), we help families develop a shared language for emotional awareness and resilience. Think Inside Out meets Sesame Street, with a psychoeducational lens.

Impulsive Isaac
- He gets things started when everyone else is hesitating. He jumps in with energy, spontaneity, and a full-body “YES” before overthinking can get in the way. He helps us move whether it’s jumping into the pool, raising a hand in class, or trying something completely new. He brings the spark we sometimes need when we’re frozen or stuck in doubt.
- But Isaac doesn’t always stick the landing. His secret is not that he’s wrong just that he needs the right timing.
- His signature move “the freeze frame”
Negative Nelly
- Negative Nelly lives in the back of your mind with a clipboard, a weather radar, and a “Worst-Case Scenario” forecast always ready to go. She means well.
- Nelly’s job is to protect you from emotional danger, especially the kind that might come from making a mistake, standing out, or being judged by others. “She isn’t cruel. She’s scared. Underneath her worry is care , a desperate wish that you won’t feel embarrassed, rejected, or overwhelmed.
- Nelly is deeply connected to your need to belong. Her radar is tuned into signs that people might think you’re weird, wrong, or not enough.
Because once upon a time, being excluded meant being unsafe. Her voice may be negative, but her heart is protective. - Sometimes she gets loud.
She uses catastrophic thinking and black-and-white predictions, not to hurt you, but to shield you. - Nelly often speaks in absolutes:
“You always mess this up.”
“This never works out for you.” - She believes if she warns you loudly enough, you’ll play it safe and avoid the pain.
- But when Nelly runs the show, she forgets something important:
You grow from trying, not just from avoiding risk. You deserve to feel proud, not just protected.
And you have other parts inside who are brave, thoughtful, curious, and calm

Curious Candice
She’s the Inner Explorer Perspective Finder.
Candice helps us pause and ask better questions not just believe the first scary thought we hear.
She’s not here to fix everything… she’s here to wonder.
She travels through time and asks:
- “Will this matter tomorrow? In 2 months? In 5 years?”
- Candice helps you slow down and ask better questions, is it a thought or feeling that pops in.
- She’s also your friendship helper — reminding you that there’s more than one way to see a situation.
- Candice brings the thinking. She helps kids ask, “What else might be true?”
- She helps analyze social situations by stepping into different perspectives.
- She encourages time travel, flips negative thoughts, and supports flexible thinking.
- Candice is more cognitive and process-driven, she’s all about figuring things out.
- Candice gives you the power to zoom out, wonder, and understand.
Confident Charlie
(The brave one who gives things a go, even when it’s hard or new)
- Charlie isn’t perfect. He doesn’t always know what to do.
But he shows up anyway. - He’s the voice inside that says:
- “I don’t know if I’ll be great at this… but I’m going to try.”
“This feels tricky, which means I’m about to grow.” - Charlie is brave, not because things are easy — but because he chooses courage over comfort.

Thoughtful Thelma
- Thelma is the quiet, steady presence inside us.
She isn’t loud. She doesn’t rush. She speaks in soft words and long pauses. - While others react fast or jump to conclusions, Thelma slows us down.
She reminds us to:
- Breathe.
- Notice.
- Reflect.
- Thelma sits in stillness and helps us understand ourselves and others.
- She doesn’t need to fix the problem right away, she trusts that clarity comes with time and presence.
Perfect Patty
- The one who wants everything just right — every time
- Patty loves gold stars, neat handwriting, getting it just right, and hearing people say, “Wow, that’s amazing!”
She believes:
- “If I do everything perfectly, no one will ever be disappointed in me.”
- Patty’s not mean, she’s scared.
She’s trying to protect you from things like:
- Disappointment
- Feeling not good enough
- She wants you to shine. But sometimes, her voice can feel like pressure instead of support.

Caring Claire
Superpower: Heart-led connection
- Caring Claire believes that kindness matters more than being right. She helps us see the world through someone else’s eyes, reminding us that empathy is a strength, not a weakness. Claire values community, shared stories, and meaningful connection—not just with people, but with animals, the earth, and the wider world.
- She teaches us to slow down, say thank you, and feel awe when the sunlight filters through trees or when we witness someone’s courage. Claire reminds us that gratitude can be grounding and that helping others builds something powerful called social capital—a network of trust, belonging, and mutual care.
- When Negative Nelly shows up, Claire doesn’t push her away. Instead, she listens with compassion, offering warmth and understanding. But sometimes Claire forgets to save kindness for herself. She gives and gives until she’s drained, quietly hoping someone else will notice and care for her too.
- Claire is learning that self-compassion is just as important as compassion for others. She’s practicing boundaries and rest, knowing that a full heart can’t pour from an empty cup.
